Reiki expansion – a written passion 💜🙏🏼
In both Home and About me sections, I mention that “my other passion is personal growth and energy therapies”, and now I’m going to tell a little bit more about the evolution of this passion, so that you understand my path, and how I finally created Editing with Care.
I had heard about Reiki through a friend of a friend, and it stayed parked and pending in my mind… waiting for its moment, and then came when I needed it the most.
📌 In case you don’t know what ReiKi is, –Japanese term which you may have heard about and would like to know more, this is a basic explanation of what it is and what it is for:
Reiki is a natural *holistic therapy which releases blocked energy in the body so that it flows again, as it should.
Rei means universal energy, and Ki vital energy, therefore ReiKi means vital universal energy, and it is the meeting process of both energies. By placing the hands close or next to the body –there’s no need to touch it– the universal vital energy (Rei) balances the vital energy (Ki) of the person who is receiving the treatment or of the person who is practicing self-treatment.
The fact that it is an *holistic therapy, i.e., treats the human being as a whole (physical, mental-emotional, and spiritual), makes it a wonderful tool, complete and effective, for your personal growth.
📚 As you can see, I’m talking about Reiki, no the ReiKi, since the definite article (the) is not needed… being this shared with Pamela Miles, a renowned ReiKi master from NY (who I met during a very interesting talk in London, 2014); after talking to her about this use, she said:
«Agreed, there is no place for the Reiki in my writing.»
«Estoy de acuerdo, en mi redacción no hay cabida para “el” Reiki».
Yes, she has also seen it written, and heard it said with the article.
From the very beginning I have always loved learning, reading and absorbing my masters’ lessons, not only Reiki ones but also life lessons, from the people around you, those that have been, those that are still there and everyone and everything that will be 🙏🏼, since we all are teachers and students in this infinite learning called life.
And this is how my ReiKi journey began 💞…
My first initiation was in September 2010, during this course I found out what was going to be my passion✨. I am very thankful to the teaching of my first Reiki master, May Ros, a quiet soul who I connected with, and she also guided me through the second level.
I kept going along this path of personal growth, from level to level, in a natural way, as if I had been born to do it, like being something logical and within my essence. In June 2012, after 6 intensive months, learning and practising beneficial and interesting methods, I got the Professional Reiki Therapist diploma in the Usui system of natural healing.
📌 In case you are interested, this is the link to the 👉 curso de terapeuta profesional de Reiki, which I took with Federación española de Reiki. If you really want to deepen the Reiki techniques and knowledge, and dedicate yourself to perform professional therapies, I highly recommend it. It’s a complete course including new and specific techniques, besides very much needed knowledge on psychology, as well as basic aspects of medicine.
By the way, I took the on-site course, but it can be taken online.
You can practice Reiki sessions with others from the first level –the more you practise the better, and above all self-treatment, but if you want to professionally dedicate yourself to it, you should learn how to practise specifically the therapies and the complete or full treatments (a session is different from a full treatment which is composed of different techniques), so that you can offer a global service.
As John Curtin says, to channel, interpret and make it easier for them.
👉 For your info, I do not have an affiliate agreement with FedeReiki, what I share-advise is pure, there are not financial interests.
👉👉 Apart from the useful techniques, empathy, affection and above all feeling love (universal and unconditional) is essential to become a good therapist.
Once the daily Reiki practice was integrated in my life, and being very conscious of its benefits, on 4 December 2013 I created Reiki expansion, a Facebook fanpage, with the literal aim of expanding Reiki. Its name, besides defining its function, was also chosen for being linguistically handy, since in both Spanish and English means the same and it’s written the same way, although in Spanish “expansion” goes with an accent: Reiki expansión 😉.
And the final academic step was on 23 November 2014, when the president of Federación Española de Reiki, John Curtin, handed me the diploma of Reiki Master, which I prefer calling “the teacher level”, last step (fourth and last level).
📌 I know colleagues of the therapist course who are not masters-teachers, and colleagues from the master course who openly admitted “not having the patience to practice therapies”, it’s a question of being conscious of your limitations, and act accordingly.
During all these years, I have been practicing Reiki, not only with myself daily self-Reiki, but also as voluntary therapist in hospitals, old people’s home, social centres (like El Palo resident’s association), and with direct patients to whom I’m very grateful 🙏🏼 for having chosen me to accompany them in their healing process, in some cases for several years, and so I have learnt from and with them.
Besides the privilege and great responsibility to have performed around 50 initiations (between the practices you must perform during the master course and the independent master ones), and 73 minicourses-semi-initiations (until now), my greatest honour was to initiate my parents 💗, and watch how it also became part of their lives with its daily practice, the progress I’ve witnessed since then is impressive.
I get emotional remembering that my mum –sceptical by nature– was my first patient, and when a sole pain disappeared in a month (4 sessions), she became aware of the energy power, together with her desire of being healed, besides believing in what her daughter was doing, i.e., placing my warm hands around her painful foot.
When a practice becomes integrated in your life in such a natural way, you can’t avoid using these makings of a therapist on a daily basis… chatting with neighbours, shopping, talking to my friends, and above all being there listening ✨.
All this is part of being an innate therapist; it’s a therapy which gets through, working in an unconscious way. And with time you hear your friends talking with your words, and watch how, little by little (as also happened to you), their way of seeing and confronting life has been changing, and their experiences too (some tell me, and others… there’s no need to tell me).
This is personal growth arising in their path, in our path, and that is what arises when expressing myself, writing or when a book comes my way to be edited…
… as a linguist, and derived from my passions, training, and experience, in Reiki-personal growth and in proofreading, translation and languages teaching, in February 2020 I created Editing with Care to help proofreading, editing, and translating texts of personal growth, energy therapies, and of every professional who connects with my essence✨🙏🏼
This is the history of my passions’ fusion in a meeting point… Editing with Care where I welcome you with open arms (and heart and ears) to accompany you in your journey, and ease the written part of your work, which maybe does not motivate you or you do not have enough time to dedicate to your texts… the required time they deserve.
📍 Remember, your texts are like the image of the reception in a company, and that is the first impression you make.
Do you practice any energy therapy? Acupuncture, yoga, tai chi, chi kung…
Come on, leave your comments 📩… you know I read them, and also answer you 🙂
🙏🏼 Thanks for being there and spending part of your precious time reading this.
If you wish so, you can comment, suggest, ask… anything that comes up on this, here I am to read them with care and dedication 💜.
